Waldorf salad is classically and really easy to prepare. Raw celeriac and an acidic apple are the main ingredients in addition to walnuts. Together with the creamy sauce of mayonnaise, cream and a hint of lemon, it is one of our favorite salads. The important thing is that it has to stay in the fridge for at least 2 hours and then served. It goes perfectly with grilled meat, vegetables or as a main course. Prepare a Waldorf salad according to our simple recipe.
The Ingredients Are Calculated Here For 3-4 People
1 small celery root
10 half walnut kernels
Mayonnaise; about 150 g
2-3 firm apples
1/2 cup whipped cream
Waldorf Salad Recipe
Peel the celery root and apples and cut them into very fine strips. Drizzle immediately with lemon juice. Roughly chop walnuts and add them too. Beat the whipped cream until it is stiff and place under the mayonnaise. Mix the dressing with apple and celery, season with salt and leave for two hours. The harsh classic gets through the whipped cream an irresistible creamy mouthfeel and unfortunately a lot of calories. It tastes mighty good. When serving you can decorate the salad with some parsley.
