For a simple cucumber salad, you expect about half a cucumber per person. Wash the cucumber, peel it how you want, cut off the lower end and slice the cucumber into thin slices. If you like, you can halve the cucumber lengthwise, remove the seeds with a spoon and then cut them into thin slices. Put the cucumber slices in a sieve. Sprinkle with salt and add to it.
